Folks, with the clocks changing this weekend do we have people interested in the 6:30pm start Carmylie (Cornkist) Wednesday night road loops again? Obviously the more people who get involved, then the more likely everyone will get in a group that suits there speed. Post up if interested please. Ta ... See MoreSee Less
The club is keen to get more people out enjoying riding their bikes, and to support this a series of easy "Mellow Rides" are planned. These are strictly non-competitive, for all abilities, offering a choice of distances, and with a guarantee that nobody will be left behind. There will also be experienced riders to look after you and help if you have any problems with your bike on the day.
The first "Mellow ride" is on Sunday 25 March, leaving the Cornkist at Carmyllie at 10.30am. There is a choice of two routes: a loop of just under 14 miles coming back via Whigstreet or an alternative, slightly longer 18 miles round by Letham.
You have a range of options to get to Carmyllie:
Ride there yourself or with a group of friends.
Put your bike in the car and drive there BUT please don't park at the Cornkist: use the car park at Carmyllie Hall, just under a mile up from the start.
You can join us and ride as an easy paced group from either Forfar or Arbroath to the Cornkist. A group will leave Forfar Community Campus at 09.30am to ride the 10 miles to the Cornkist. A group will also leave Arbroath, from the Ram's Heid on East Muirlan Road, at 09.45am for the 6 miles to meet at the Cornkist.
We do hope to see you there for the first of what we hope to be a series of sociable bike rides held on the last Sunday of each month from the Campus (Forfar) and Ram's Heid (Arbroath), with planned routes and of course, a cuppie and a chat at the end.
For anyone interested please see routes linked on separate post. Cheers all. ... See MoreSee Less
