Eddie Morgan Memorial Road Race

Both RG McLean and Peter Flick competed in the 3rd and 4th Category Eddie Morgan Road Race in Perthshire on Sunday 7th July.

In very hot but fast conditions the pace never let up with average speeds of over 24 mph for the 55 mile course.

The course was lumpy and with some very narrow roads made for interesting racing. The race at one point was black flagged due to persistent riding on the right side of the road.

A number of small breaks developed in the race however the riders never got a chance to make it count.

The race went to a bunch sprint won by Ross Mallen of Royal Auir Force CC. Peter Flick finished in the lead group of about 25 riders.

RG came in a few minutes down from the main group after losing touch on the final short climb up Mill Haugh.
