Looks like it John. I dont make it every sunday, due to work commitments, but anytime i do go along to the sports centre there is never anyone there.

That’s a pity, maybe it’ll pick up again over the colder months.

There have been a few of us (Bike Chainers, Angus CCers, non-members/prospective members and hingers-on) heading out from Paddy School for the past few weeks and I thought it would be good to maybe meet up with any Arbroath riders if they were out as well.   It certainly makes no sense for us to travel through to Arbroath if there isnae gonna be anyone there…

Think the other 9am Forfar Sunday road run will commence again since holidays, relentless etc are now finished.
Maybe a chance to combine or meet up on these John?

Sounds like a plan Mike, it would be good to meet up somewhere and maybe ride a short distance a wee bit faster than we usually do just to try to get faster…and then drop off again obviously 😆

I’m off down to Wales riding this weekend so winnae be out this weekend but should be out most Sundays from then on.

Arbroath run still on but I’m no there every week either. There were 2 of this on Sunday past but given the heavy rain we were only out for an hour. I managed 90 lumpy miles on Saturday at the inaugural Scottish Cogal so was happy enough with that as was the other rider that showed.

Gotta persevere, there are plenty of folk down here who ride bikes of a Sunday morn and it would be nice to get them meeting up.

It’s good to have options and I quite like crawling out from under the duvet at the back of 9 and having 200m to get to the start. 6am rise Monday to Friday wears you down by the weekend.

This Sunday I’m taking a minibus of DJCC down to a session on Glasgow Velodrome so won’t be at the Sports Centre.

Ok, I’ll continue to post threads detailing plans and try to meet up, but if naebody replies then it’s not gonna happen.

Right, is ANYONE going  from Arbroath this Sunday? It’s a bit further than 200m for some of us, an there’s not much point in people travelling from Forfar / Kirrie if we are the only ones to turn up. As John said, we’ve had groups of at least 7 going from Paddy school the last few weeks.

I might try to hing oan with the Big Boys leaving from the Zoar on Sunday. I like the suggestion of both groups meeting up and taking it from there. Any thoughts?

Paddy School seems like a good option, generally nicer route options from there too. As for this weekend, Euan is crocked, not sure what Joe’s up to, I’m away and I need to see Steve as it was through the shop that the numbers got up to and over 12 at the start of the year. I’ve not heard from anyone else like Steph (he was trying to get forum access sorted as he missed the launch).  If by some fluke we eventually manage to get a few of the Arbroath locals (not club members) riding together regularly then it can only be good. Solo riding is fine up to a point but some regular company is better.

Ok, since it doesn’t look like there will be anyone out from Arbroath,  I’ll be lanterne rouge with the Zoar group.  John F is away having hilly “fun” in Wales, so I doubt if there will be anyone from Paddy School.

How about a Take 2 for tying again to meet up the runs from Forfar and Arbroath? friockheim or Monikie or somewhere else?

JB – not sure about this Sunday being the best week to try & meet up?

Forfar group could be a bit of a mixture, the weather isn’t looking the best and more importantly the cafe at Tealing is shut!

    Let me know your thoughts?

Nae worries. Asthma killing the breathing just now anyway. No sure who else is going out. Take 3 another week? Probably once the forecasts for -20 have passed.

    We’ll get there eventually.

“Forfar group could be a bit of a mixture…”

Mike, that’s a very subtle way of saying there might be the odd auld jakey turning up.
