Preparations are well advanced for the Nick Hardy Memorial RR on Sunday 14th April up at Monikie Park.

This is a call for marshals and other helpers, particularly BC members who can take on lead car/ commissaire driver roles plus a service vehicle or 2 on the day. 1200 kick off, no TT this year, just a straight 50 mile road race. Full field of 80 riders inc a few ABC CC members who will need cheering on (or shouted at!) NEG motorbikes secured along with the photo finish.

Please let me know by email if you can help on the day in any way.

    Cheers

Final call for all help on Sunday please? several club members are involved in other events elsewhere and I’m likely to be tight for helpers, especially a couple of lead cars and 2 service vehicles. If you can help out with a vehicle please let me know. If you are great at making up sandwiches, that would be great too.

I have some replies already, thanks, I’ll be in touch directly this week.

    Cheers

John,  What time do we need to be there? I think you’ve got me down to be the commissaire’s  chauffeur.

Thanks guys. 1200 race start, if helpers could arrive about 1100 that would be great. Alex, you will be driving Comm 2 Peter Clark. I’ll contact you by email to confirm car details. Mike, your van would be fantastic, although its more likely to be service with wheels than sweeping up bikes unless I can get another service car or 2. Steve can’t make it as he’s got a tri on.
Thanks Peter. Perhaps you could do a final email call for anyone who’s not already responded so far.
    Cheers.

A massive thanks to everybody who turned out to help today in pretty horrible conditions especially at the start. It’s appreciated. I’ve had a lot of good feedback already.

2013 is the 20th anniversary of Nick’s passing and Mr snd Mrs Hardy are very grateful that the club continues to run this race in his memory. I had a chat with them after the race and despite the emotions they experience at race time they are keen to continue to support the race and I’m happy to continue to organise it.

I would like to consider a fresh course for next year so if any of you have any suggestions on something challenging with a decent Race HQ and parking in Angus, preferably with a quiet or off public road finish please get in touch. I’m prepared to approach landowners and private estates for access if necessary.

    Thanks again

    Another excellent event JB.

I have always thought the driveway of Glamis castle would make a great setting for a finish to a race, but not sure if that would permit a decent course option or if there is race HQ option but maybe worth considering.
