John (Fyfe), M3 are using Champ also as we mentioned for kit, they are also letting members order their own kit through the website via a login and password system. You planning to do all the ordering or take a similar approach to M3? Would be less hassle for you.

Good idea, means little stock needs to be held, folk get what they want and pay for it at the time. No chasing up cash or promises of it.

Was exactly my thinking John, avoid any future issues of holding stock which on evidence seems a cost to the club, not sure if the kit is sent diret to members or collated by the main contact, will check with Malcolm in M3.

I had not been aware that facility was available, but it sounds like a good idea.  I had not been planning on holding any stock, given the high amount of stock we still have from the old design.  So, if people could order their own kit then all the better.  I’ll speak to you after the duathlon tomorrow.

    Guys
I spoke with a dude from Champion Systems at the Revolution in Manchester last night. The full range of kit is massive and looks OK. The standard bib shorts pad seems fine but the pro range is way better. Kit seems a bit more expensive than we have been used to (over £50 for bib shorts with the good pad). The winter jacket isn’t as cosy looking but feels like a quality item for about £70!!
The individual ordering can be done but items collected and sent to one club contact once they arrive from manufacture in Hong Kong. Hopefully the boats run regularly.

John/Peter – whats the situation with the new club kit?

All seems to have gone quiet?

Personally, i’ll be needing some new bib shorts soon (especially if i destroy some kit at the puffer!).

    An update would be appreciated.

Waiting paitiently too. My skinsuit is only one Glasgow track league crash away from the bin. They are quite frequent. Stayed upright thus far. Just.

A sit rep would be appreciated.

Sorry about the delay in replying.  I have just received the templates from Ailsa this evening and will get things moving along with Champion early next week,  If anyone knows how to put .pdf files pictures onto the site let me know and I’ll forward the files so they can be put on the webpage for people to see.

I shall post regular updates on the webpage (and facebook) once I have contacted Champion.

    Proposition for the committee?

To get the new kit out & about, how about a free (or subsidised?) new club top if you rejoin the club by a certain date?

    Agree Mike.

Anyone a member by order date (tbc after samples arrive) would be entitled to one. That way this years subs could go toward the kit and the rest picked up by the club (presuming not too much) and allow the new kit to get out and about a bit better.

    What do others think??

I am not going to be permitting non-members to order the club kit, so not sure that a subsidised top would be get it out there any sooner.  But I would not be opposed to subsidised kit just for the sake of being a club member – it might cause me and the treasurer and secy. a bloody headache tho once we get into the ordering process and take into account club points and subsidies, especially if we can go down the individual order route option.  But I’m sure we could get round it somehow.

Back to ordering – Ailsa spotted a slight error/amendment in the template sent earlier but has now sent me the correct version, so I’ll get onto it with Champion tomorrow.  I have sent the pdf’s to Mark and asked if he can amend the club kit page – the updated version has ABC lettering on the red sleeve.

John – at present your only going to have to order about 6 bits of kit as nobody else seems bothered about it!
