Apologies for being to the point, but when are we likely to see the new club kit?
This has been ongoing now for some 5 + months, yet we still have no word when we’re likely to get kit, how we order it, how much it will be etc etc never mind the fact that only 6-7 people (going by comments on the ABC forum!) seem interested in actually getting any of this new kit!
I personally got crucified for wearing ‘non ABC kit’ last year, well at this rate i’ll be doing exactly the same again this year!
John F – what ‘old stock’ do you still have, especially in bib shorts?January 30, 2013 at 9:11 pm #780AnonymousInactive
Mike, there is another thread discussing clubkit in which I have provided an update, I recieved the final templates last week and have sent an e-mail to the contact I was dealing with previously.
I have not heard back from him, and as a result I have obtained the e-mail address of the M3 contact rep, and will be sending him an e-mail this evening detailing what we are looking for. I have had problems accessing the Champ Systems webpage (probably due to my poor broadband connection) but am taking the more direct route of contacting the named reps by e-mail until I can figure out a way of accessing the website – if indeed I can!
Although it has been on-going for 5+ months everyone has been aware of how things were progressing and the timescales – January was the deadline for the design when discussed at the last meeting.
As for you saying you have not been provided with prices this is untrue, as I provided details of pricing at a meeting which you were at as well as sending out links via a club e-mail so you could access the full kit price range. I am unsure as to how ordering will work, although a couple of options are available which we can explore; this will need to be sorted out and I shall post updates as they are available (as I stated on the other thread)
Discussions at meetings highlighted that it would be early Spring (I think March was mentioned) before the club kit would probably be available, and there was nodding of heads at this and it seemed fine to all those present – there were certainly no grumbling voices as I remember.
Re “old kit” there are 6 pairs of size 4 medium bibshorts (Endura make) which I think were too small for those who ordered them, and one pair size 6 XL (TAL make) bibshorts. I would imagine you fall into the size 5 category, of which there are none as they were snapped up when first advertised at the reduced cost.
There is not much I can do about people not posting on the webpage!January 30, 2013 at 9:26 pm #781
John – thanks for the response.
Ok re the old kit – yip would need a size 5.
I didn’t think prices had been mentioned, but I’ll check old emails.
As i see it March is only 4 weeks away, and through no fault of yours/Peters or Ailsa’s no kit is likely to be ordered for a number of weeks?
Hope I’m proven wrong?January 31, 2013 at 4:30 pm #782AnonymousInactive
Update – the contact Peter provided has resulted in things moving along.
Deposit paid, templates submitted and the following samples requested:
Mens top (club fit) and bibshorts – M, L, XL
Women’s top and shorts – S, M
Samples might be with me for duathlon and I shall make arrangements for them to be made available at turbo once they arrive, and also at Steve’s shop – I might be able to have a Forfar option as well if I can time it properly. Samples need to be returned within 14 days of receipt, so there will be tight timescales, so if you cannot get yourself planned to try on samples then too bad!
I’ll need to speak to c’ttee members re what ordering process we want for the first order, and I’ll provide details once it is agreed.January 31, 2013 at 5:37 pm #783
Found an old email from 25th july 12 which had various links, including one to Champion System Uk, which allowed me to open a price list.
Can you confirm that the bib shorts that you are getting as samples would cost us (inc vat) £54 each? and the short sleeve tops £42 each?

The samples being sent are for a sizing guide only and are not quality samples from a specific range.January 31, 2013 at 8:04 pm #785AnonymousInactive
In other breaking news….I have managed to access Champ Sys website! Hoorah!January 31, 2013 at 9:00 pm #786AnonymousInactive

I posted on another clothing thread that when I spoke to the Champ Systems guy at the Rev last year and saw most of the range that the price of the bibshorts was over £50 with a decent pad The Endura orange and blue one could be classed as a decent quality pad. This was more than we were used previously to so £54 could be about right. Looking at the current Endura catalogue their basic lycra bibshort is £47 without the extra for 2 colours. The Equipe range is over twice the price! It seems the Champs Sys price is about the norm. Still, more incentive to stay upright. Keen to try out the sizing samples and compare quality but medium or size 4 is likely to be fine for me.February 1, 2013 at 12:08 pm #789
John F – would be good to know what the samples relate to in the range if possible?

Mike, IIRC the samples sent previously as a guide to quality had the name of the item printed on the garment, but I am sure I’ll be able to work it out even if not by comparing the product with the description on the webpage.February 1, 2013 at 9:26 pm #791JBParticipant
With any luck the Champ Sys stall will be at the Rev in Glasgow tomorrow. They are sponsoring one of the teams. Between beers I’ll try to write down some more detail on what fits where in the range and what compares with current kit.February 2, 2013 at 12:24 am #792AnonymousInactive
I’m not really sure what the “issue” is tbh. We have agreed to get the new kit from Champ Sys. There were “quality” samples sent and it was decided that they were fine, the prices were discussed, the design has been agreed…so what more needs to be decided? If anyone wants to know about the ranges available the website is comprehensive.February 2, 2013 at 9:03 am #793
John F. – I don’t have an ‘issue’ but would be fine to know if the sample kit was eg £50 or £100 bib shorts!
