Plenty to catch up on over the past week.
First up was the Fife Midweek Time Trial Series over in Fife, Stewart Irving was the sole representative from Angus Bike Chain clocking a superb 22mins 18secs on a balmy night for a TT. This time smashed Stewart’s previous best.
At the weekend Colin Nicol was competing in the Mersey Roads 24 hour Time Trial, supported by Euan Ritchie. Yes, 24 hours in the saddle, Colin appears to be taking up the pain mantle from El Presidente Alex Pattison and hammering out the miles. Provisional results have the distance at 349 miles. More details on their Facebook page.
Finally, Francis Chesters competed in the locally run road race, The Tour of the Glens, hosted by Dundee Thistle. This is a very tough event open to E/1/2/3 category riders covering 65 miles. It was always going to be a hard effort with Elite riders in the field. Francis managed to hang with the bunch for 2 laps of the 4 lap circuit before ending up solo, 28 riders managed to complete the race. Results and brief report here.
