Road Racing & Time Trial Update

It’ been quite a busy past few weeks on the road front for club members. Francis Chesters was competing in the Crit under the Castle in Stirling on Sunday 19th June. Francis managed to secure his 3rd category licence in the 4th category only race finishing in a sprint for second place. It topped off quite a good week for him after his success in the Balgay Crit Race the week before.

Meanwhile on Sunday 26th June, myself, Nico Anelli and Simon Arnot all competed in the Eddie Morgan Road Race. The course has changed over the years and now covers a distance of just under 63 miles around a 5 lap circuit. It is quite an undulating course and suits a punchy rider. The race was won by the breakaway, who said they never win? Nico and Simon unfortunately had a difficult day losing touch early on in the race, fair play to Nico for completing the course. I finished in the sprint within the main bunch for the minor places in a time of 2 hrs 42 minutes.

Meanwhile in the Fife Midweek TT league on Wednesday 22nd June, Stewart Irving put on a very impressive performance to finish 6th in a time of 35:05 over the Kennoway 15 mile course.
